Time Event
Hi everyone! This is going to be my first time at Burning Man, and while preparing I stumbled across a few questions that I hope someone can help me with:

1) Does anyone know where I can buy a dusk mask, goggles, and a flashlight that goes on your head in NYC?
2) Has anyone tried that No-Rinse stuff that keeps you clean without requiring a lot of water? It sounds like a great idea, but I don't know how well it actually works
3) As for actual washing, I know I need something to collect the grey water, and have read about lining a crate with garbage bags... But I am not sure where i could get my hands on a crate or something similar. Any suggestions?
4)Lastly, I am at a loss about what to do for a shade structure... I feel that a beach umbrella wouldn't be big enough, but I'm not up to building a complicated structure either. What do you use for shade for a small camp of two people?

I'd really apreciate any advice you can give me! Thanks!
i didnt receive a pamphlet with my ticket. what exactly is in the pamphlet? and do they give you any paperwork at the gate?

Current Mood: curious
Death Valley vs Black Rock Desert
Since i've been to Death valley, i have been wondering how different being in the BRD will be from being in DV. I know that Death Valley is the lowest point on the continent, and that the BRD is at 4000' elevation. So today i just pulled up the weather indexes for both places.

shipping to BRC from NYC
Hi, all

I've heard that each year NYC burners from different camps are preparing a common shipment to BRC, but I can't find any information on that. We are going to bring a mutant vehicle, and need to ship it, so if what i've heard is true, it would be great if we could join NYC shipping. The disassembled vehicle is appriximately 4.5 by 3.5 by 2  feet and should't weight more than 100 lbs. If anyone has any information about the shipping -- please leave a comment here or email me at dnaidionov (at) gmail.com
Also, maybe anyone knows where could I get a crate of such size?
Ridesharing from Olympia to Portland?
Is anyone heading from the Puget Sound area and going to or through Portland on the morning of Friday, August 26? I need to transport myself, a large bag, and a bike to someone's house there by 2:00 at the latest so I can hook up with my theme camp's bus down to Burning Man. I live in Olympia, WA and I'm camping with Snuggletown!

I can give you some gas money and maybe a few glowsticks. You can also have a hug if you want it. I can't miss the bus!
clown caught in seattle
