sorry for the confusion but it was just such a shock! i only caught the end of it. it not that i have a problem with Microsoft it's just seemed to make a joke of BM! to quote someone from tribe...
"i have to say, there is no stopping the spread of burning man, just like any other event, or anything for that matter. i think, rather, than being against the spread/popularization of burning man, we should be more concerned with how its being portrayed, and trying to make sure the right messages get out...and the right messages spread...and not druggie raver stereotypes.
personally, i think the commercial in question isn't so bad...for one, yes, bm is full of computer geeks, so this was bound to happen....but as someone who has a lot of tattoos, and whose parents don't exactly approve, i think it's kinda cool that they're associating bm with the kind of parents who are cool with their kids expressing themselves in that way...even if it isn't exactly shown in that light (most people see it as random pierced guy unfit to be a parent mentioning bm, etc etc)...but that's what we should worry about...the RIGHT messages...not just the fact that bm is becoming more 'household'"
i am just worried that with the growth we will end up losing BM to the "man". it was the same with anything else that didn't conform to the "norm" it gets out and the "man" finds out and shuts it down! that would be a tragedy! i would be heartbroken!
